School board gaining 2 new members

In District 2, Tiffany Mumford Brame was the winner over Nichole Eastman.

(Editor’s Note: This story has been updated to reflect absentee ballots counted Friday, Nov. 6. It also corrects a mistake in an earlier version that failed to note Jeff Moore is an incumbent.)

One of the Christian County Board of Education races in the general election was too close to call after polls closed Tuesday, with 37 votes separating District 1 incumbent Jeff Moore and challenger John Bruce. But only five additional votes were cast by absentee voters whose ballots were received after Election Day, and Moore won the race by a vote of 1,789 to 1,753.

In the District 2 school board race, Tiffany Mumford Brame won her race against Nichole Eastman by a vote of 1,859 to 1,498. Brame will take the seat held by Susan Hayes, who did not seek re-election.

District 4 had one candidate, Mike Walker. He is filling the position held by board chairwoman Linda Keller, who did not seek re-election.

The school board has five members. Their terms are for four years.
