Christmas at the Bend, the annual holiday celebration for children and their families at Jeffers Bend Environmental Center, is planned for 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3.
All of the activities will be indoors, including visits with Santa Claus in his workshop, organizers said. Photos will be available for $5.
Storytelling, holiday music and refreshments will be offered, along with games for children and information about feeding birds in winter. A drawing for a 55-inch television set will take place at 12:45 p.m. Families will be able to make Christmas ornaments, and cards will be made for nursing home residents.
Admission is $5 per car or $10 per bus. Jeffers Bend is located on Metcalfe Lane, off North Main Street behind Riverside Cemetery.
The environmental center is named for the late Sherrill L. Jeffers. An advocate for city beautification, she was Hopkinsville’s mayor from 1982 through 1985.
