Santa Claus’ annual tour of Hopkinsville on fire trucks is Dec. 14

Children will be able to wave to Santa Claus as he moves throughout the city on three routes beginning at 1 p.m.

The sixth annual Santa Claus is Coming to Hoptown event is set for Sunday, Dec. 14.

Beginning at 1 p.m., Hopkinsville firefighters and police officers will usher Santa Claus on three simultaneous routes through the city so children can see him and wave as he travels through the city.

“Santa covers three routes starting at 1 p.m. … (surely only Santa could be at three simultaneous routes),” Hopkinsville Parks and Recreation officials wrote in a press release. “Santa’s visit can be tracked live on GPS that will be displayed online … The GPS tracking and turn-by-turn listings will allow all kids young and old to track Santa in a timely manner as he moves through his route.”

Santa Route 1 will start from the main fire station downtown. Route 2 will depart from the fire station on Skyline Drive, and Route 3 will leave from the fire station on Canton Pike.
