Residents asked to provide data for internet speed test

The Kentucky Broadband Initiative will help local and state officials learn where the state needs access improvements.

Christian County Judge-Executive Steve Tribble is asking local residents to participate in the Kentucky Broadband Initiative Speed Test to give local and state officials a better understanding of local internet accessibility.

The crowd-sourced broadband project collects data on internets speeds and could help the community secure grants that would improve broadband capabilities, he said. Anyone can participate on the Kentucky Broadband Initiative website

“More data is needed from the residents of Christian County, even from residents who currently live where there is no available service,” Tribble said.

Residents who do not have internet access availability can call Tribble’s office at 270-887-4100 and provide their address.
