Public library extends closure through April; online resources still available

The earliest possible date the library could reopen is May 4.

The Hopkinsville-Christian County Public Library will remain closed through April.

The library announced Monday that officials were extending the closure in an effort to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

In addition to regular operations, all programs are canceled through May 2. That includes any groups that had reserved a meeting room.

Books and other materials on loan will not incur late fines will the library is closed. Material can be returned any time at the book drop outside the library.

Library card-holders may also use the public library’s online resources, including the Libby app to check out electronic books and audio books.

The library is tentatively scheduled to reopen on May 4.
