Brame, a Hopkinsville native, served in Vietnam. He has “dedicated years to honoring veterans and supporting the Hopkinsville community,” a recreation official said in a press release.

Sponsored by Hopkinsville Electric System and EnergyNet, the parade begins at 5:15 p.m. and travels from North Main Street to South Main Street though the heart of downtown.

“Floats, vehicles, bands, golf carts, and more are welcome to enter the parade for an entry fee of $20 and a new toy donation,” the release states. Entry forms are available at the Thomas Street Recreation Center.

The deadline to enter a float or vehicle in the parade is Dec. 4. The cost to enter is $20, plus a new toy donation. The entry form is here. Additional information and rules for parade participants is here

Cash prizes will be awarded for the traditional float divisions. A People’s Choice Award from WKDZ/WHVO will be presented to the most popular float as voted on by the public.
