Apple TV has all the rights to “Peanuts” specials, thanks to a deal made in 2018, so viewers can no longer expect to see the 1973 classic, “A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving,” on network television as they did for many years.
But fans of the holiday program shouldn’t despair. Apple TV made arrangements with PBS to offer the “Peanuts” specials so they will be accessible to a wide audience. “A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving” will air at 6:30 p.m. CT, Sunday, Nov. 21, on PBS and PBS Kids stations.
“Peanuts” creator Charles M. Schulz once said his idea for a Thanksgiving story was very simple. Schulz wanted to know “what it would be like if kids did Thanksgiving dinner and the chaos that would ensue. That is what it is all about,” a Los Angeles Times story describes.
