Bertha Mae Quarles Watkins, 76, of Oak Grove, died on Saturday, April 27, in Christian County. She was a member of St. Bethlehem Baptist Church, where she participated in the senior choir, mother’s board, and as an usher. She worked as a nurse’s aide at Medco. Funeral services will be at noon Saturday, May 4, at St. Bethlehem Baptist Church in Pembroke. Burial will follow at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the service hour Saturday at the church. Gamble Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Willie Roy “Sonny” Killebrew, 76, of Christian County, died on Friday, April 26, in Nashville, Tennessee. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, where he served as an airplane mechanic. He played basketball at Attucks High School. He was a musician, widely known for playing saxophone with the Jimmy Church Band, Hot Dancing and other bands. He also played in churches and for weddings, funerals and family reunions. Funeral services will be at noon Tuesday, May 7, at All Nations House of Prayer. Burial will follow at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday, May 6, at the church. Gamble Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Bevelyn C. Matlock Ruthford, 55, of Hopkinsville, died on Thursday, April 25, at Tennova Healthcare. A native of Pembroke, she was a homemaker. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, May 3, at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 2, at the funeral home.

Eddie Stewart, 67, of Hopkinsville, died on Tuesday, April 23, at Bradford Heights Nursing & Rehab Center. A native of Hopkinsville, he worked in construction as a carpenter. A private family graveside was held on Tuesday, April 30, at Peaceful Meadows Cemetery. Lamb Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.

Lou K. Dunn, 87, of Hopkinsville, died on Monday, April 29, at Jennie Stuart Medical Center. A native of Leitchfield, Kentucky, she worked in the Budget and Finance Office for the Department of Defense at Fort Campbell, retiring after 38 years of service. Funeral services will be at noon Friday, May 3, at Goodwin Funeral Home in Cadiz, and will be livestreamed on the funeral home’s YouTube channel. Burial will follow at Green Hill Memorial Gardens in Hopkinsville. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the service hour Friday at the funeral home.

Larry L. Still, 76, of Hopkinsville, died on Friday, April 26, at Ridgewood Terrace in Madisonville, Kentucky. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a mechanic for Hutson Inc. He was a member of the Eagles and VFW. Funeral services will be noon Thursday, May 2, at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the service hour Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in his memory to VFW Post #1913, 1601 VFW Lane, Hopkinsville, KY 42241-0118.

Anne P. Atkins, 92, of Hopkinsville, died on Friday, April 26. She worked in child care and was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church. Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, June 1, at Edgewood Baptist Church. A private burial will follow at East End Cemetery in Cadiz, Kentucky. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the service hour Saturday at the church. Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Linda A. West, 75, of Hopkinsville, died at 5 a.m. Sunday, April 28, at the Linda White Hospice House in Evansville, Indiana. A native of Cincinnati, Ohio, she worked as a state social worker for more than 30 years. She also was a volunteer at Millbrooke Elementary School and Hopkinsville High School, and she was a member of Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church. A funeral mass will be held at 12:30 p.m. Friday, May 3, at Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. until the service hour Friday at the church. Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Memorial contributions are suggested to Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church or your favorite children’s charity.

Aline Ferguson Thomas, 95, of Christian County, died on Thursday, April 25, in Hopkinsville. She was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, May 2, at Gamble Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West. Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. until the service hour Thursday at the funeral home.

Joanne “Jo” May, 70, of Church Street in Crofton, died on Tuesday, April 9, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. A native of Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, she was an LPN at various locations and a member of Crofton United Methodist Church. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Lamb Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.

Carolyn Phyllis Miles Simpson, 81, of Springfield, Tennessee, died at 12:05 p.m., Saturday, April 27, at TriStar NorthCrest Medical Center in Springfield. A native of Nashville, Tennessee she was a teacher at Amqui Elementary School in Madison, Tennessee, and was a member of First Baptist Church in Joelton, Tennessee. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, April 29, at Flat Lick Cemetery, Hopkinsville. Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

George “Jerry” Weatherford Brockman III, 90, of Hopkinsville, died at 2 p.m. Friday, April 26, in Hopkinsville. A Hopkinsville native, he was a graduate of the University of Louisville and was a commissioned officer in the U.S. Navy. He also worked as an insurance agent and a beverage distributor, and he was a member of the Chicago Board of Trade. He retired from Merrill Lynch in 1997 after 29 years as a broker. He was a member of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, where he served on several committees and was an altar server. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, May 2, at Saints Peter and Paul. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home with a rosary service at 7 p.m.
