A Hopkinsville trivia contest, sponsored by Hoptown Chronicle, will occur during breaks in the Beards of the Brewery competition. Several prizes donated by local businesses and organizations will be awarded. The trivia questions are about local history and downtown.
Hopkinsville's downtown trick-or-treat event will be replaced by the first-ever "Halloween Scare-A-Van," a drive-thru event set for 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. on Oct. 30 at Trail of Tears Park.

Anyone who goes for a flu shot on Oct. 14 will also have the option of being tested for COVID-19.

Other events include a spooky stroll through a local cemetery and movie night at the museum.

Hopkinsville native bell hooks is among several dozen authors featured in the anthology that explores unique Appalachian struggles, questions, and values.
Similar memorial gatherings are planned across the country at the same time.
The auction will run Monday through Saturday. The public can listen on WHOP or watch a livestream video online. All bids will be taken over the phone.
