In total, 105 rooms are being used at five Kentucky state parks – Pennyrile, Kentucky Dam Village, Kenlake State Resort Park, Lake Barkley State Resort Park and Barren River Lake State Resort Park – to house tornado survivors.
The bill includes four key measures to address the shortage: licensing reciprocity between other states and countries, higher enrollment caps, looser nursing-instructor qualifications and restructuring the state Board of Nursing.

The move would significantly boost the power of Kentucky’s part-time legislature, which is normally only allowed to pass laws during the first few months of the year.
The Commonwealth Sheltering Program, which provided the trailers, also provided trailers in Mayfield on Friday. They are expected to provide "medium-term" housing for displaced familiies for at least the next six months.
