Last week, students on the Kentucky Student Voice Team filed a lawsuit against the state for failing to provide “an adequate and equitable public education.”

The lawsuit claims the legislature and state education officials are falling short of their constitutional obligations.

The requested records relate to a September report in which a UK student said she was sexually assaulted off campus and then later in her dorm room at Chellgren Hall by a Lexington man, Chase McGuire, 22.

KCTCS has more than 100,000 students across 16 colleges within Kentucky. Hopkinsville Community College is part of the system.
