Regents will vote Thursday evening on whether to suspend the university's Master of Arts in Folk Studies and the Bachelor of Science in Agriculture programs.

The day after lawmakers rapidly changed and passed a bill that bans gender-affirming care for minors, the commissioner decried the “sweeping and harmful” legislation.
An addition to the bill states, "Students in grade five and below will not receive instruction about human sexuality or sexually transmitted diseases. Students in sixth grade and above must have a parent’s consent to receive such instruction."
An opponent said the amendment would nullify four sections of the Kentucky constitution that relate to the legislature’s “obligations to the public schools.”
