Limited attendance outlined for Christian County winter sporting events

Only parents and guardians will be allowed to attend basketball games and swim meets.

A limited number of family members will be allowed to attend basketball games and swim meet competitions for Christian County Public Schools during the first two weeks of the new school year, district officials announced.

Each athlete will be allowed up to four tickets for parents and/or guardians to attend sporting events between Jan. 4 and 17.

Ticket-holders will have to enter through designated doors and will undergo a temperature check to enter school facilities.

Immediate family members will be allowed to sit together but must remain at least 6 feet from others. Fans will be required to wear a mask at all times. Anyone not following the district’s rules will be required to leave, according to the policy.

“Public address announcements will continually remind attendees of safety guidelines and rules,” the policy states. “Please do your best to keep our fans, families, players and coaches safe.”

Only essential personnel and athletes will have access to gym floors.

Students are scheduled to return to classrooms on Jan. 6.
