The League of Women Voters of Hopkinsville has scheduled another pop-up voter registration drive, and the organization is encouraging high school students who will be 18 by Election Day, on Nov. 3, to register.
League members will be on hand for the pop-up event from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Aug. 22, at the Ruff Park Pavilion on North Drive.
“If you are not registered to vote, volunteers will be available to assist,” a league spokeswoman said in a press release. “All you will need is your smart phone, basic information and Social Security number (which will not be released). If you do not have a smart phone, you will still be able to register.”
Social distancing will be observed during the registration drive.
The deadline to register for the November general election is Oct. 5.
To be eligible to register, a person must be a U.S. citizen and have been a Kentucky resident for at least 28 days before the election. Here is a list of all the qualifications from the state Board of Elections.
