Leadership West Kentucky graduates first class

The inaugural class of 29 included five members from Christian County.

Five Christian County residents were among 29 members of Leadership West Kentucky’s inaugural class, which had its graduation on May 25 in Hopkinsville.

The local members were:

  • Martha Argot, of United Southern Bank
  • Ruth Lynch, retired educator from Christian County Public Schools
  • Josh Ryan, of Planters Bank
  • DeeAnna Sova, of Ascend Elements
  • Joe Pelletier, of Rogers Group

“Personally, my hopes are for this inaugural class to learn more about the communities and assets throughout the region, build upon a new network of relationships, encourage more regionalism and create advocates for our region,” Christian County Chamber of Commerce President Taylor Hayes said in a press release. “I am confident this class and these five from Christian County have taken that initial leap.”

West Kentucky Regional Chamber Alliance created the leadership program “to promote regionalism and build a network of informed citizens across community lines,” the release states.

The class began with a two-day orientation in January at Paducah and then met monthly through May at different locations in the 14-county region.

The chamber alliance has not yet determined if the program will continue in 2024, according to the release.
