The current class of Leadership Christian County has announced a fundraising campaign to support the Jeffers Bend Environmental Center. Contributions will help fund educational programs, facility upkeep and ongoing improvements, a press release from the leadership class states.
A video, which aims to raise awareness of Jeffers Bend and what it offers, is available to view online and to share with potential donors.
“As leaders committed to strengthening our community, we recognize the tremendous impact Jeffers Bend has on education, conservation, and quality of life,” said class member Elizabeth Grant. “We are calling on local businesses, organizations, and individuals to join us in preserving this incredible resource for future generations.”

Jeffers Bend, located off Metcalfe Lane on the north side of Hopkinsville, is a 40-acre nature preserve managed by volunteers under the direction of Pennyrile Resource Conservation and Development Area.
“It serves as a hands-on learning environment that fosters environmental awareness and appreciation of Kentucky’s natural beauty,” the release states. “However, continued maintenance and development of this treasured space rely on community support.”
Donations made to Pennyrile Resource Conservation and Development Area can be mailed to Katey Barnett, P.O. Box 1570, Hopkinsville, KY 42240.
