Kentucky Educational Television is launching a new nightly news program on Wednesday, June 1. “Kentucky Edition” will air weeknights at 5:30 p.m. CT on KET.
The half-hour program will summarize each day’s major developments and provide with “Kentucky-wide reporting” by the state’s Public Broadcasting Service affiliate.
“From education to the economy, agriculture to healthcare, business to the arts, ‘Kentucky Edition’ will tell the stories of communities and people who go out of their way to make a positive difference in Kentucky,” KET announced. “‘Kentucky Edition’ likewise will visit regions of the Commonwealth seldom heard from outside of breaking news events, highlighting the challenges and achievements of those met along the way.”
Renee Shaw, director of public affairs for KET, will host “Kentucky Edition.” She leads KET’s reporting on the General Assembly and coverage of elections and state policy topics.
In a Facebook post, Shaw said, “After nearly two years of planning: technical infrastructure and equipment upgrades, staffing, training and all the rest, KET’s Kentucky Edition launches tonight. … As always, I am humbled and grateful to God that I share this space with such dedicated, talented professionals committed to doing good work.”
