Kentucky Tourism, Arts and Heritage secretary to attend Hopkinsville town hall

Lindy Casebier, the secretary of Kentucky’s Tourism, Arts and Heritage Cabinet, will be in Hopkinsville for a town hall meeting with Mayor James R. Knight Jr. at noon on Wednesday, Jan. 15, at the Hopkinsville Municipal Center, 715 S. Virginia St. 

Community members are invited to the meeting in City Council Chambers, the mayor’s office announced. 

Casebier is a former state legislator from Louisville. He served in the Kentucky House from 1987-1993 and then in the Kentucky Senate from 1993-2005. He chaired the Senate Education Committee. Gov. Andy Beshear appointed Casebier to his current position in early 2023.

There are several state agencies under the Tourism, Arts and Heritage Cabinet that Casebier oversees. Among them are the Department of Parks, Department of Tourism, Kentucky Historical Society, the Kentucky Arts Council, the Kentucky Horse Park and the Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources.
