Kentucky Boys and Girls Clubs inducts 2 Hopkinsville volunteers into Hall of Fame

Bill Munday and Ruth Lynch are inaugural members of the Hall of Fame.

Hopkinsville residents Bill Munday and Ruth Lynch were recently inducted into the inaugural Kentucky Area Council’s Hall of Fame for the Boys and Girls Clubs of America. The induction occurred during a ceremony in Bowling Green.

According to a Facebook post on Monday by the Boys and Girls Clubs of Hopkinsville-Christian, Munday and Lynch were both instrumental in the establishment of the local chapter.

Munday and his wife, Kaye, helped raise more than $200,000 needed to establish the Hopkinsville chapter after a group of local residents met with a national Boys and Girls Clubs representative in 2004. Bill Munday remained on the local board for more than 10 years. In 2020, the Mundays helped finance a new cafeteria and kitchen for the club.

Lynch, retired teacher and school administrator, has served on the board since it was established in 2005. She has been instrumental in upgrades and capital campaigns.

“We are extremely grateful for both of these individuals and thrilled to see their years of dedicated service receive proper recognition,” the post states.
