Is it Christmas without a holiday trivia quiz? (The correct answer is …)

Hoptown Chronicle editor Jennifer P. Brown has been creating a holiday quiz every year since the mid-1990s for a party with friends.

Nearly 30 years ago I started writing an annual Christmas quiz for a group of my friends who get together every December to catch up and exchange holiday decorations in a game called Dirty Santa.

When we started this tradition, most of us had children in elementary school. Now we have graduated to grandchildren, and most of us need reading glasses to see the quiz questions.

The quiz is always heavy on American holiday culture and movie trivia from the 1960s and ‘70s. Usually there are prizes for people who correctly answer the most number of questions. We even give a prize to the person who has the most incorrect answers — it’s sort of like our participation trophy.

Every year, there is a question about “The Homecoming,” which you’ll see below, because I’ve loved that 1971 television movie since I was 9 years old. It launched “The Waltons” series the following year.

Somehow I failed this year to include any questions about “It’s a Wonderful Life,” which I also love. That was a stumble on my part, but I did work in some questions about what’s been happening with holiday celebrations in Hopkinsville this year.

So here it is. Click “View Score” after submitting your response to see the answers.
