Invest in our community — and double your impact — on #GivingNewsDay

Just think of the impact that could have — not just in our newsroom, but in Hopkinsville and Christian County.

Giving Tuesday — or what we prefer to call Giving News Day — is a growing global generosity movement that encourages people to drive change by supporting nonprofit causes they find important.

Today, Hoptown Chronicle is joining more than 300 organizations across the country in raising $50 million to sustain nonprofit news organizations like ours.

We are one of the smaller news outlets involved in this effort, but that doesn’t mean our work is any less important to the community we serve. People who live in small cities like ours have just as much need for good journalism as those living in larger, metropolitan areas. To settle for anything else would suggest that our lives are less important.

As a reader of Hoptown Chronicle, you’ve come to depend on our reporting to give you the facts you need to understand this community we share. And, as a nonprofit with no paywall, subscription fee or advertising, we depend on support from readers like you to make this work possible.

Will you consider making a donation to Hoptown Chronicle today, in support of #GivingNewsDay?

From now until December 31, NewsMatch will match your new monthly donation 12 times or double your one-time gift, up to $1,000. Just think of the impact that could have — not just in our newsroom, but in Hopkinsville and Christian County.

We hope to gain 20 new donors by the end of the day today. Can we count on you to help us reach our goal?

If you’re already a donor, we hope you’ll consider sharing this story on social media or with someone you think would appreciate the work we do.

Invest in public service journalism for our community. Give today.
