As of Saturday evening, AT&T was continuing work to restore cellular and internet service to many Hopkinsville residents. The widespread AT&T outage — spanning large areas of Kentucky and Tennessee — followed a Christmas Day explosion outside an AT&T building in downtown Nashville.
Hoptown Chronicle has compiled several area hotspots that may be helpful to residents looking to connect during the outage.
Several of the following hotspots are owned by the city of Hopkinsville and Christian County Public Schools. CCPS spokesman John Rittenhouse said Saturday evening that the district had not tested the sites because schools were on break, but believed some of the locations were working. The Hopkinsville-Christian County Convention & Visitors Bureau was not aware of any issues with the city-owned sites.
