Military veterans are invited to walk or ride on a float for the half-mile Veterans Honor Parade at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, in downtown Hopkinsville. The route will be from the Memorial Building on South Virginia to the Christian County Justice Center on West Ninth Street.
“A float will be available for those veterans that prefer to ride the parade route,” organizers said in a press release. “Every participating veteran will receive a hand-held American flag to carry and take home.”
Veterans will be recognized during a brief ceremony at the justice center.
The parade is put on by the Hopkinsville Division of Parks and Recreation, Christian Fiscal Court, the city of Hopkinsville and the Christian County Military Affairs Committee. Supporting sponsors are Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1913, VFW Hopkinsville Auxiliary, WHOP Radio Station and Hopkinsville Disabled American Veterans.
Call Parks and Recreation at 270-887-4290 or Military Affairs at 270-885-9096 for more information.
