The Hopkinsville League of Women Voters will have its annual meeting from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, July 8, at The Corner Coffeehouse, 1100 S. Main St.
The meeting is open to anyone interested in joining the league, the group said in a press release.
The LWV is a nonpartisan, political organization with 50 state chapters and hundreds of local chapters. The league’s mission includes expanding voter access and opposing voter suppression.
The Hopkinsville chapter has conducted candidate forums in every local election for decades. It also organizes voter registration events.
A Hopkinsville native, Mary Bronaugh, was a founding member and the first chairwoman of the Kentucky League of Women Voters.
