Hopkinsville Community College issues call for artists to display works

Artists selected for an exhibition will show their work in the Auditorium Gallery.

Hopkinsville Community College is seeking two-dimensional art, such as paintings and photography, to exhibit in the Auditorium Gallery, where faculty, staff, students and community members enjoy displays daily, the college announced Tuesday in a call for artists.

“Artists selected for exhibition will have the opportunity to display their work in a solo exhibit for approximately one calendar month. Specific dates will be scheduled accordingly,” HCC Vice President for Workforce Development Carol Kirves wrote in an email.

Twenty to 40 pieces typically make up an exhibit. The gallery’s rail-hanging system has 115 linear feet of hanging space.

Artists selected for an exhibition will be responsible for hanging and removing their work. Each piece must have a frame or edged finish.

Additional information is available by contacting Kirves or Lanita Wilson in HCC’s Workforce Solutions Office, Room 13 of the Auditorium building. Their email addresses, respectively, are carol.kirves@kctcs.edu and lanita.wilson@kctcs.edu.
