Hopkinsville-Christian County Public Library opens science exhibit for children

The Science in Play2Go exhibit is on loan from the Kentucky Science Center.

A traveling science exhibit for children ages 8 and younger is on display at the Hopkinsville-Christian County Public Library, 1101 Bethel St.

Science in Play2Go is a miniature version of the Kentucky Science Center’s signature exhibit in downtown Louisville.

“SIP2Go is built around the twin concepts of open-ended play and ‘loose parts’ — materials that can be reimagined in countless ways — allowing children to naturally develop 21st century learning and STEAM skills,” the Hopkinsville library’s interim director, Tiffany Luna, said in a press release.

The public may see the exhibit during the library’s regular hours — 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturdays.

Schools and community groups may arrange field trips to the science exhibit by sending an email to dejeunee@kysci.org. The exhibit will be in the Hopkinsville library through the end of May.
