HBC collaboration beer will benefit Pennyroyal Veterans Center

HBC owners Kate Russell and Joey Medeiros brewed The Eleventh Hour in Boston.

The Pennyroyal Veterans Center, a 50-bed residential facility for homeless military veterans, will receive a portion of the proceeds from a new Hopkinsville Brewing Co. beer that was brewed in collaboration with Sam Adams’ Boston Beer Co.

HBC will release The Eleventh Hour — named in honor of Veterans Day — on Wednesday, Dec. 22, brewery owners Kate Russell and Joey Medeiros announced Monday in an email. For each pint sold at the brewery on Fifth Street, HBC will donate $1 to the veterans’ home on Boales Street.

The Eleventh Hour is a Raspberry Berliner Weisse. It was brewed in September and was available beginning on Veterans Day in Boston.

Its recent arrival in Hopkinsville marks the culmination of an apprenticeship program with Sam Adams, the flagship brand of Boston Beer Co. Russell was selected for the program, known as the American Dream Experience, which gives brewing and business mentorship to brewers getting started in the craft beer industry.

The collaboration beer will also be available on tap at four area restaurants — Davo’s, The Local, The Mixer and Harper House.
