Hopkinsville Art Guild slates several events

The events include a 'Midday' program, five workshops and a crafting session.

The Hopkinsville Art Guild has announced its next Midday with the Art Guild program, along with several workshops and a crafting event. 

The Midday with the Art Guild program will be at noon Wednesday, March 13, at the Pennyroyal Area Museum, where Carol Barta will give a presentation on the book “ArtCurious: Stories of the Unexpected, Slightly Odd, and Strangely Wonderful in Art History” by Jennifer Dasal

The free event is sponsored by Planters Bank, HEWA, United Southern Bank and the law firm of Ison & Cavanah. A light, boxed lunch will be served. Reservations are required by March 9 and may be made online

In other programming, the guild has slated five workshops:

  • Jewelry Making — with Sarah Brechwald on Saturday, March 2. Register by Feb. 27.
  • Pastels — with Jeannie White on Saturday, March 9. Register by March 6.
  • Colored Pencil Drawing — with Betty Liles Saturday, March 23. Register by Mar. 20.
  • Watercolor painting — with Jeannie White on Saturday, April 13. Register by April 10.
  • Beginning photography — with Angela Comperry on Saturday, May 18. Register by May 15.

The workshops are free for guild members and $35 for non-members. More details, including registration, is available on the guild’s website

The guild will also have a free Crafting After Hours program on Saturday, April 20. Participants will make garden flags with Christine Elledge. Registration is required by April 17.
