The following poems were recited during “Homegrown Poems: Your Places, Your Stories in Verse,” on Oct. 21 at The Corner Coffeehouse. The event, which was held in support of Hopkinsville’s most recent Big Read selection, Thornton Wilder’s “Our Town,” was co sponsored by Hoptown Chronicle and WKMS.
Many of those who wrote a poem for the event took inspiration from the poem ‘Where I’m From’ by Kentucky author George Ella Lyon.
