Josh Groves, a junior at Heritage Christian Academy, is the new president of the Commonwealth Senate for Kentucky Youth Assembly, HCA announced.

Groves also serves as student government vice president at HCA, where he is a member of Beta Club and National Honor Society. He is a former KYA governor.

At his school, he is secretary of the Key Club and a member of the academic quick recall team and the Spanish Honors Society.

Groves is the son of Jennifer and Phillip Groves.

KYA allows students to participate in a model state government, where they learn legislative procedures and how to articulate their believes on different issues. This year’s assembly was a virtual event.
