How can I vote?

Christian County voters have three options: voting absentee by mail-in ballot; casting their ballot early in-person; or voting at one of 13 polling places on Election Day.

ABSENTEE

Kentucky voters who want to cast an absentee mail-in ballot in the November general election — and have a qualifying reason to do so — must make their request for the ballot no later than 10:59 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 22. The request can be made online. In the case of a medical emergency within 14 days of the election, a voter or their authorized representative may submit a notarized paper application for an absentee ballot through Nov. 5.

Among those who qualify to vote with a mail-in ballot are voters who are temporarily living out of state, such as college students. Here’s a list of all of the qualifying reasons for an absentee mail-in ballot.

Voters must return the ballots to the county clerk’s office by 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 5.

How can I request an absentee ballot?

The deadline to request an absentee ballot is Oct. 22.

According to state regulations, once a voter has requested a mail-in absentee ballot, they cannot vote in person unless they do not receive their requested ballot by Oct. 28.

Medical emergency absentee ballots requested can continue to be submitted from Oct. 22 through Nov. 5.

What if I'm not registered?

The deadline to register to vote in the general election was 4 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 7.

Any Kentucky resident who is a U.S. citizen and will be 18 years old by Nov. 5, 2024, and has not been convicted of a felony, may register to vote by completing a voter registration form online or at the Christian County Clerk’s office.

If you’re not sure if you’re registered to vote or if your voter registration is up to date, you can check here.

How can I make sure my absentee ballot is counted?

You can review the status of your ballot, including the date you requested it, when it was mailed and when it is counted, by checking online at the Kentucky Board of Elections.
