The Friends of the Library is starting a monthly book swap, and the first one will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday, June 22, at the Hopkinsville-Christian County Public Library, 1101 Bethel St.
The idea is to share recently purchased and read books with other people in the Friends group, an organizer said in an email. Everyone who participates should bring a book they are willing to trade for someone else’s book. There will be time for discussion of the books.
The swap will be in the Community Room on the second floor of the library. A Friends board meeting will follow the swap, and anyone may stay for the meeting. Information about joining the Friends will be available.
The group is a support organization that raises money to help the public library with programming, materials and facility needs.
