Freeze warning issued; gardeners need to protect plants

The temperature will deep below the freezing mark early Wednesday morning.

A freeze warning is in effect tonight for Western Kentucky and Middle Tennessee.

“Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold,” the National Weather Service states. “Those that have in-ground sprinkler systems should drain them and cover above-ground pipes to protect them from freezing.”

The temperature will dip to around 30 degrees between midnight and 8 a.m. Wednesday. 

Later Wednesday, it will be sunny with a high of 58 degrees, according the NWS forecast.
