First-generation college students invited to HCC session

A complimentary lunch will be served to the first 50 people who arrive for the 1st Gen Fest beginning at 11 am. Monday.

Hopkinsville Community College will host first-generation college students for a special program from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 8, in the Emerging Technologies Building on the North Drive campus.

The 1st Gen Fest will focus on resources and support for new and current students who do not have a parent who completed a bachelor’s degree, according to a news release from HCC.

“College staff from across campus will set up in one location to provide extra assistance for students without a family history in higher education,” the release states. “The event will provide a one-stop-shop atmosphere so that current and prospective students can get questions answered, learn more about available resources and receive hands-on assistance with tasks like financial aid and admissions and much more.”

A complimentary lunch will be served to the first 50 attendees.
