Elizabeth McCoy returning to UK Board of Trustees

McCoy, a graduate of the University of Kentucky, is the CEO of Planters Bank.

Gov. Andy Beshear recently appointed Hopkinsville bank executive Elizabeth McCoy to the University of Kentucky Board of Trustees.

McCoy, who is CEO of Planters Bank, will replace Dr. Thomas Abell, an ophthalmologist who resigned early from the board. She will serve the remainder of his unexpired term ending June 30, 2028, according to a press release from the governor’s office. Most recently, McCoy served on the UK board from Oct. 19, 2017, to June 30, 2022. 

McCoy is a member of the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis’ Board of Directors. She is past chairwoman of the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce. She also serves on the Hopkinsville Industrial Foundation and the South Western Kentucky Economic Development Council boards. 

A graduate of the UK Gatton College of Business, McCoy was inducted into the college’s Hall of Fame in 2009.
