Several more downtown street closures are planned in the coming week while CSX crews continue maintenance on rail crossings in Hopkinsville, city officials said in a press release. Most of the work will be done during the night and early morning.
The closures, weather permitting, will be:
- East Ninth Street at the rail crossing, beginning at 6 p.m. Monday, Aug. 17.
- East Fourth Street at the rail crossing, beginning at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 18.
- East First Street at the rail crossing, beginning at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 19.
In addition, CSX will begin work Thursday, Aug. 20, on remaining rail crossings throughout the city, and those will remain closed through the weekend, according to the city’s release.
Drivers should prepare for detours during the rail work.
