Downtown deli will shift to a food truck business

Southern Belle Deli at Fifth and Main streets will close at the end of June.

A downtown deli will close at the end of the month as the owner shifts her business to a new food truck operation.

Owner Shateeka Gibson announced on Tuesday that Southern Belle Deli and Catering will close its shop at Fifth and Main streets, along with a cafe in Oak Grove, by the end of the month.

Gibson, who is widely known as Chef Teeka, told Hoptown Chronicle she hopes to have the food truck running by September or October. She will continue to offering catering services.

The deli opened in October 2020, serving lunch on weekdays.
