Eight couples performed in the Dancing With Our Stars competition Saturday night at the Alhambra Theatre and helped raise $70,000 for the event’s sponsors, the Pennyroyal Arts Council and Sanctuary Inc.
Traci Mason and Greg Perry received the championship trophy as the dance team raising the money for the night.
Other awards include:
- The judge’s choice award went to Cody and Melanie Noffsinger.
- The online fan favorite award went to Keith and Holly Hampton.
- Brooke Bailey Abner received the top coach award.
Also competing were Greta and Jim Drury, Renikka and William Owen, Lindsey and Jeff Geraci, Sallie and Doug Colburn, and Stacy Travis and Matt Robinson. (Travis substituted for Robinson’s wife Noell, who broke a bone in her foot during dance practice a couple of weeks before the competition.)
Dance experts from Brooke Bailey Dance Addiction & Gymnastics and Bluegrass Dancecats served as mentors and coached participating couples.
Russ Guffey was emcee for the night, and the judges were Alissa Keller, Chris Miller and Terry Lacy. Dancers performed for a sold-out crowd.
The event raised more than $65,000 in 2016, and $57,000 in 2017.
