COVID-19 case closes courthouse again

After the building is cleaned, officials expect to reopen the courthouse Monday morning.

The Christian County Clerk’s Office is again closed because of a positive COVID-19 case in the office, officials announced in a Facebook post late Thursday morning.

The courthouse on South Main Street, which houses the clerk’s offices, will be closed through the weekend so the building can be sanitized. The announcement says officials expect to reopen the courthouse Monday morning.

In 2020, the courthouse closed four times following instances of employees testing positive for COVID-19.

A mask mandate, reinstated at the courthouse in early August, remains in effect. Masks are also required at the Christian County Justice Center.
