The Christian County Health Department on Friday reported the death of a 71-year-old woman who is the county’s 15th COVID-19 related fatality.
The woman had underlying health conditions, according to a news release from health department spokeswoman Amanda Sweeney.
The county’s last COVID-19 related death was reported on Aug. 31.
The department confirmed 20 new cases of the virus on Saturday, pushing the total since the pandemic began to 1,035. Of those cases, 244 were active and 776 were cases classified as recovered, according to health department reports.
Sixteen percent of all cases have been reported within the last two weeks, and the seven-day average on Saturday was 13.
