The Christian County Health Department reported 31 new COVID-19 cases on Monday, pushing the total since the pandemic began to 1,066. It is the county’s third-highest daily total yet.
The seven-day rolling average of new cases grew to 16 — double what it was two weeks ago and just shy of the highest average to-date. In mid-August, the average reached 17 for two days.
The health department reported 66 newly recovered coronavirus cases, with the total number classified as active on Monday falling to 209.
According to data from the Kentucky Department of Public Health, there were 30 active patient cases and six active staff cases at Christian Health Center on Faulkner Drive. Six other staff members at the nursing and rehabilitation facility were classified as recovered.

Western State Hospital, which is separate from the nursing facility, listed one active staff case. Christian Health Center is the only local facility reporting active patient cases.
