Members of the public are invited to a special meeting of the Corner Coffeehouse Reading Group at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 16, at the coffeehouse to discuss “The Book Woman’s Daughter.”
The book by Michele Richardson is this year’s Kentucky Reads selection. Set in Kentucky, the book is a sequel to “The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek.”
Poet and journalist Constance Alexander will lead the discussion, which is sponsored by Kentucky Humanities. Alexander, a Murray resident and Hoptown Chronicle board member, has previously led Big Read poetry workshops in Hopkinsville, and she is slated to lead another poetry workshop on Oct. 19.
Corner Coffeehouse, at 11th and Main streets in the Pennyroyal Building, has a limited number of free copies of “The Book Woman’s Daughter” and a correlated study guide for those planning to attend. The meeting will be at the coffeehouse. It is free and open to anyone interested in the book.
Coffeehouse co-owner Amanda Huff-McClure said attendees do not have to be members of the reading group.
