Corner Coffeehouse book nook is a popular addition at new location

Proceeds from the book nook are being donated to youth programming at the Hopkinsville-Christian County Public Library.

When Amanda and April Huff-McClure moved their Corner Coffeehouse to South Main Street last week, nothing on the menu changed. They’re sticking with coffees, teas, sandwiches, wraps and baked goods.

But customers do have some new choices.

Now there’s a book nook at Corner Coffeehouse.

Used hardbound books and paperbacks all sell for 75 cents each, and the proceeds are being donated to youth programming at the Hopkinsville-Christian County Public Library. Genres range from children’s books to novels and nonfiction.

April built the wooden shelves in a nook of the new location at 11th and Main streets in the Pennyroyal Building.

Amanda said she’s been pleased with the reaction of customers.

“It has garnered far more interest than I anticipated,” she said.

Customers are welcome to bring in donations of books to keep the nook well stocked.

The coffeehouse is open from 6:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
