City to close part of Ninth Street for Thursday event

The closure will provide space for activities planned at Stroll, Sip and Shop.

East Ninth Street will be closed to traffic between South Virginia and Liberty streets from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday for the Stroll, Sip and Shop.

The event is coordinated by the Downtown Renaissance District and co-sponsored by Milkweed Health and Harmony Emporium.

Businesses in the area will stay open later than they normally do, and cocktails and beer will be served. Entertainment will include a belly-dancing performance.
