Christmas parade entry deadline extended

The parade, set for Dec. 12, will remain stationary while spectators pass by in their vehicles.

Hopkinsville Parks and Recreation has extended the deadline to enter a float or unit into the 2020 Reverse Christmas Parade until noon Nov. 25, program coordinator Pam Rudd said in a news release.

The parade, set for 5:15 to 7:15 p.m. Dec. 12 downtown, will remain stationary while spectators will pass by in their vehicles. The unusual arrangement is intended to eliminate a large crowd of viewers downtown that would put many people at risk of contracting COVID-19.

The theme of this year’s parade is Home for the Holidays.

Entry forms are available at the recreation office on Thomas street and online. More information is available by calling the office at 270-887-4290.
