Snowfall Monday measuring roughly a quarter to one-half inch in most areas of Hopkinsville caused prompted some cancellations.
Christian County Public Schools are closed Tuesday, and Hopkinsville Community College is operating remotely.
The school system canceled classes “due to black ice on the roadways and the impact to the northern part of the county,” district spokeswoman Johnna Brown said in an email. “There is no NTI today, today will be a traditional snow day.”
The district’s Inspire Early Learning Academy is also closed.
Tuesday will remain very cold with a high around 35 degrees. Wednesday will be warmer with a high in the upper 40. Overnight lows for the rest of the work week will be in the teens and 20s, according to the National Weather Service forecast.
