The Kentucky Supreme Court recently appointed Mary Pettus-Rowland, a Christian County native, to a two-year term as the unlicensed citizen member of the Board of Governors for the Kentucky Bar Association. which reviews attorney discipline matters.
Pettus-Rowland was nominated by First Appellate District Justice Shea Nickell, according a press release from Nickell’s office.
“The Board of Governors consists of two licensed practitioners elected by attorneys in each of the Commonwealth’s seven appellate districts who serve alongside five licensed officers elected statewide,” the release states. “In addition, four non-licensed citizen members are appointed by the Kentucky Supreme Court to assist in reviewing attorney discipline matters. Besides Pettus-Rowland, the other three current citizen members include Greg Caudill, CEO of the Farmers National Bank of Danville, Dr. Michael Knight, senior pastor of Madisonville’s Covenant Community Church, and Steve Ray, a retired Madisonville funeral home director.
Pettus-Rowland, a 1970 graduate of Hopkinsville High School, owns and operates Pettus-Rowland Funeral Home in Paducah. She is retired from the U.S. Enrichment Corp. after working nearly 30 years as a power operations supervisor.
