Christian County has 4 residents in regional leadership group

Martha Argot, Ruth Lynch, Josh Ryan and DeeAnna Sova are among 30 picked for Leadership West Kentucky.

Four residents of Christian County have been selected for the first class of Leadership West Kentucky, a regional development program sponsored by the West Kentucky Regional Chamber Alliance.

They are:

  • Martha Argot, United Southern Bank
  • Ruth Lynch, retired from Christian County Public Schools
  • Josh Ryan, Planter Bank
  • DeeAnna Sova, director of Hopkinsville-Christian County Public Library

The inaugural leadership class has 30 members. Local sponsors for the program are Planters Bank, Hopkinsville Community College and Atmos Energy, said Taylor Hayes, president and CEO of the Christian County Chamber of Commerce.

Following a two-day orientation in January, the class will meet monthly through May with one-day sessions focused on regional topics, including transportation, education, economic development, quality of life, advocacy, agriculture and tourism, according to a press release from the Paducah Area Chamber of Commerce.

Hayes said the graduation in May will be conducted in Hopkinsville.

“We hope the first class of participants of Leadership West Kentucky will return to their communities and companies with increased skills, knowledge, perspective, and a new regionwide professional network,” Paducah Chamber president Sandra Wilson said in the release. “These leaders will have the resources to be better prepared to be catalysts in their companies and communities to further the region.”
