Christian County has 150 active coronavirus cases; 219 people listed as recovered

The health department's drive-thru site provides free COVID-19 testing from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday through Friday at Tie Breaker Park.

The Christian County Health Department reported 150 active cases of COVID-19, including eight newly confirmed cases, on Thursday.

The number of active cases by age group are:

  • Youth (0-21): 27
  • Young Adult-Middle Age (22-59): 98
  • Older Adult (60-84): 21
  • Elderly (85+): 4

Since the start of the coronavirus pandemic in March, 373 cases have been confirmed through the health department. Of those, 219 people have recovered from the virus, in addition to four people who have died of COVID-19 complications.

There are possibly more diagnosed cases in the county that have been confirmed through testing at a private physicians’ office but not reported to the health department.

Anyone may be tested for COVID-19 free of charge at the health department’s drive-thru site at Tie Breaker Park. The entrance is on the LaFayette Road side of the Stadium of Champions. Hours are 9 to 11 a.m. Monday through Friday.
