Christian County’s Court Appointed Special Advocates for abused and neglected children is hosting a dinner at 6 p.m. Thursday, March 24, for individuals interested in learning more about the nonprofit organization.
CASA of Christian County trains and supervises volunteers who serve as advocates for children, many of whom have been removed from homes and placed in foster care or with other relatives. The court swears in volunteers so they can serve as “the voice of the child until a permanent, secure home is found for each child,” said CASA board members in a letter inviting community members to the dinner.
There’s no cost for the meal, but reservations must be made by March 21 by emailing casachristiancounty@gmail.com.
The dinner will be at First Christian Church’s fellowship hall off Morningside Drive at South Walnut Street.
